The number of benefits that come from drinking green tea seem to be never ending!  Green tea has been around for centuries and has been a popular drink for health conscious people for well over a decade.  This green tea smoothie is a great fat burning recipe, but also provides a long list of other health benefits.

Christopher Ochner, PhD from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital said, “It’s the healthiest thing I can think of to drink.”

In the last 20 years, green tea has been proven to improve blood flow, lower cholesterol, and prevent high blood pressure.  Catechins, an antioxidant that fights and prevents cell damage, is the main ingredient in green tea that makes it so fantastic!

What About The Fat Burning?

We weren’t misleading you with the title of this recipe, green tea really does help you lose weight! An active ingredient in green tea, EGCG, is known for being a metabolism-boosting compound.  Though green tea alone won’t help you lose large amounts of weight, there have been reports of people losing up to 10 pounds in two months!
